A couple weeks ago, I spent a lovely evening in the lavender field photographing families and kids amongst the fragrant blooms. Can you think of a more beautiful and relaxing place for a photoshoot?!
It was wonderful to meet so many new families as well as see familiar faces, and I'm so excited to share a few images from this beautiful little lady's session!
The sun kept popping in and out of the clouds, and whenever it shone, everything touched by its rays turned into gold. It was quite magical! And this little girl did a marvelous job for each image. 😍 Can we just take a moment to give her a round of applause?!
I had a great experience working with the farmers, Melissa and Gregg, who delayed their harvest by a few days so that we could get beautiful photos in their field. They were so sweet to have little baskets and hats set out for those who wanted to pick a bouquet. My own bouquet is charming my bedside table with its sweet fragrance.
I'm already making plans to offer additional lavender mini sessions next year. Of course, each season can vary depending on the weather, but Melissa expects June to be the optimum time for photos next year.
During each mini session, I spend about 15-20 minutes capturing moments of the whole family, just mom and dad, siblings together, and individual children. I provide a blanket to sit on as well as a crate or stool for kids.
I think the lavender field would also be the perfect location for sweetheart couples, expectant mothers, as well as 2023 seniors!
Feedback like, "You did AMAZING with my family! I can't say thank you enough" and "You are delightful and great to work with!" makes every single minute I spend on location and then editing worth it!
I'm so grateful for the opportunities to do what I love doing and thankful for all the support from new and returning families.
